CIS Basic organization for research of terrorism and extremism holds a science-to-practice conference


A science-to-practice conference on improving organizational and methodological support of anti-terrorism activity was held under the auspices of the CIS Basic organization for research of terrorism and extremism problems on April 24, 2024 at the CIS ATC headquarters.

The event was attended by representatives of academia and educational institutions of the competent authorities of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, scientific and advisory boards at CIS ATC, Council of CIS ministers of interior and Coordinating service of CIS Border troops commanders' council, as well as officers of National anti-terrorism committee office and National center of terrorism and extremism information counteraction.

In his welcoming remarks the chair of the CIS ATC scientific and advisory board, first deputy head of CIS ATC Zhanat Saypoldaev briefed the conference participants about the outcomes of XVII meeting of heads (chiefs of staff) of national ATCs and a meeting of the CIS ATC scientific and advisory board which offered a platform for exchange of opinions, including on scientific support of activities of the CIS competent authorities. He noted a need in applied research efforts by the scientific and expert community, as well as introduction of scientifically proved researches.

He proposed continuing the kicked-off discussions at the CIS counter-terrorism conference to be held in Tashkent in September this year.
