CIS ATC participated in International Scientific-Practical Conference on regional security in Central Asia


A representative of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center took part in the International Scientific-Practical Conference "Terrorism and Extremism:
Contemporary Challenges, Threats and Political-Legal Aspects of Regional Security in the Central Asia” organized by the Republican Training Center of the MIA of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the Law Institute of the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn in Bishkek on April 24, 2024.

The event was also attended by the experts of the state authorities of Kyrgyzstan, representatives of think tanks, expert analytical agencies, higher educational institutions, analytical centers, international and public organizations.

The conference discussed the issues of counter-terrorism and counter-extremism in the Central Asian region amid the rising threats to security.

The participants noted the role of law enforcement agencies, international organizations and civil society institutes in preventing terrorist and extremist crimes. They stressed the necessity to boost outreach work in the patriotic and spiritual and moral guidance of the rising generation for the purpose of preventing youth involvement into religious-extremist and terrorist organizations.

The CIS ATC’s representative informed the conference participants of the results of joint work of the competent authorities and special services of the Commonwealth states as well as primary sources of terrorist threats to the Central Asian region.

The conference adopted the recommendations.
