A representative of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center took part in the round table on "Prevention of proliferation of terrorist ideas and provision of anti-terrorism security" which was held in the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) on April 14, 2023.
The event brought together representatives of governmental authorities, public organizations and religious confessions.
The meeting participants noted:
an importance of coordinated work of the governmental authorities and local governments with public organizations and associations, religious structures and civil society institutions;
a need to strengthen interagency cooperation for the prevention of terrorism and extremism and implementation of preventive measures, including educational efforts aimed to counter terrorist and extremist ideas.
The CIS ATC's representative presented a report on "CIS ATC's activity in countering proliferation of terrorist ideas".The event participants commended a best practice of annual international research-to-practice conferences on the anti-terrorist subject and the "Student's Shield" contest of students' initiatives in preventing terrorist ideas held annually by the CIS ATC and MSLU and contributing to prevention of youth radicalization.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of recommendations covering specific preventive measures.
