CIS ATC PARTICIPATED IN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH-TO-PRACTICE CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY INSTITUTE OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

A representative of CIS ATC participated in the International Research-to-Practice Conference organized by the National Security Institute of the Republic of Belarus on May 25, 2022.

The Conference reviewed topical issues of methodology, technology and practice of information security, impact of global informatization processes on shaping new challenges and threats, as well as ways to organize counteraction of the competent authorities to such threats.

In her statement the CIS ATC representative noted that Internet continues to be used to disseminate terrorist and religious extremist ideas in the Commonwealth space. Most active are the media structures specially established by international terrorist organizations to conduct global information campaigns.

They post numerous rubrics with extremist content on web resources and create specialized websites, virtual chats, forums and online games to promote their ideologies. Internet continues to be used for so called virtual or remote recruiting of potential terrorists, fundraising among the individuals who share terrorist ideas.

Today activity on the international terrorist organizations in the Internet is aimed inter alia at making of fakes, falsification of current events and historical facts, substitution of values and basic concepts in the culture. Considering the wide spread of modern network technologies, translation of the manipulative content, including the one of extremist nature, has no territorial-spatial restrictions and allows the propaganda initiators influencing the consciousness.
