On results of table-top exercise ahead of 1st stage of “East-Antiterror – 2024” drill


A table-top exercise aimed to prepare for the first stage of the “East-Antiterror–- 2024” joint anti-terrorism drill of the competent authorities of the CIS member-states was organized by the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan on August 22, 2024.

The event brought together representatives of the competent authorities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the Council of the Heads of Financial Intelligence Units, Executive Committee of SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure and CIS ATC.

The participants were briefed about the procedure of conduct and content of the main stages of the drill, the procedure for using collective information systems available for the security agencies, special services and law enforcement authorities of the Commonwealth states, as well as typical case problems of the drill.

The exercise allowed for exchange of best practices in providing security of the critical infrastructure facilities and object of mass gathering in the CIS member-states. The participants reviewed specificity of the measures aimed to improve facilities’ anti-terrorist protection.

The “East-Antiterror – 2024” joint anti-terrorism drill will be carried in September this year in the territory of seven CIS states. The drill will offer an opportunity to master identification and prevention of terrorist attacks, neutralization of terrorist threats to border security, counteraction to cyber-terrorism and financing of terrorism
