The Office of National Anti-Terrorism Committee with the coordinating support of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (CIS ATC) conducted a joint anti-terrorism drill of the CIS competent authorities “Commonwealth-Anti-Terror 2022” from 29 to 31 August, 2022. The concept of the drill suggested detecting signs of preparation and preventing terrorist attacks at the critical infrastructure facilities and places of public gathering.
The drill brought together security agencies and special services of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan.
The “Commonwealth-Anti-Terror 2022” drill was aimed to improve efficiency of cooperation between the competent authorities of the CIS member-states during coordinated operational search activities against objects of mutual interest.
The operational units of the drill participant-states assisted by the Coordination HQ at the CIS ATC empoyed collective information systems and modern technical means to carry out training missions to identify and apprehend groups of simulated terrorists planning to commit terrorist attacks on dedicated facilities of the CIS states.
The participating units mastered mechanisms of inter-state and inter-agency cooperation and information exchange between the special services, checked anti-terrorist security of the critical infrastructure facilities.
The drill’s mission has been accomplished.
